I WANT TO COMPLAIN. dr florence lee teaches kindergarten 2 kids to be materialistic in her book "a day with farmer dan". it says "farmer dan is a happy man. do you know why? he has a big farm and a brand new van!" now these kids are all going to grow up thinking the way to be happy is to have big farms and brand new vans. or theiur equivalents. like.. big mansions and brand new BMWs. and isn't there supposed to be some moral? like if you are too materialistic you'll lose all your friends. but in this story farmer dan not only doesn' lose his friends he has people like pat and her mommy who wants to visit him and wish on a star that they were back in farmer dan's farm when they go home!!!! okay whatever.

oh on monday during bio michelle was sitting next to me and she saw this cockroach behind my chair and we were like aahhh and michelle bravely plonked some old newspaper on it so that it wouldnt run away. step on it i told michelle but she said no why don't you step on it and of course i didn't want to and so we left it there. but after lunch i couldn't take it anymore and i jumped on it like mad and i made zhuting take it away and the squished cockroach was stuck to the newspaper and michelle was like deborah!!! why did you do that i wanted the cockroach to suffocate and die so there wouldn't be any cockroach juice left on the floor. and xinyi was like i thought i just killed that cockroach this morning!! poop so in the end i just made things worse for the cockroach and me. ohwell. i hate cockroaches!!! ugh.
